Located on Place de la Concorde Square, l'Hotel de la Marine is a beautiful architectural ensemble designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel, the king's chief architect in the 18th-century. This iconic building, well-known by the Parisians, will be opening for the first time to the public after 4-years of renovation. Until 1798, it housed the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne, before becoming the headquarter of France's navy ministry for over 200 years. The Garde-Meuble de la Couronne was the institution in charge of supplying and maintaining the king's furniture for all his royal residences such as Versailles, Fontainebleau, Compiegne.
